Phil Royal, a serious and professional photographer, takes his photography very seriously. Phil started taken photographs at the age of 13. Phil took his first professional photograph of his niece 30 years ago and has been an enjoyable journey ever since. Since then, he has photographed over 800 weddings, countless children and family portraits. Phil Royal was employed by one of the top Fortune 500 companies as a computer performance analysis but is now practicing photography full time. Phil spends much of his weekend time working at his craft. He spends much of his weekdays meeting with clients, studying his craft, looking for new ideas and always doing what everyone else in his craft is "not" doing. Phil Royal's photographs are sometimes traditional and sometimes different. His photographs make a statement, tells a story, or captures a moment that is gone forever.

In 1976 Phil Royal started out as a wedding photographer trainee for a studio in the Bronx, New York. Phil was one of six other staff photographers photographing weddings for the studio on weekends. A year later, Phil Royal was the top photographer for the studio and today still remains the top and most requested photographer. Phil is now photographing more of his own weddings clients and still in high demand from multiple wedding studios.

In addition to his specialty of photographing weddings, Phil Royal's other specialties are Slide/Music presentations performed at weddings (called "Reflections"). He also photographs children and family portraiture where he brings his studio on location. These are the kind of portraits you would not find offered in department stores!

Phil Royal is also a 1977 graduate of Germain School of Photography of New York. Phil is a member in good standing of the "Professional Photographers of America" and adheres to the PPA Code of Ethics. He was also awarded the status of PPA Certification in March of 2003. He was also a member of "The Ridgewood Camera Club" where he had a total of one "Award" and four "Honor"s in print competition his first year. Phil Royal also has one of his photographs published in the "Photographer's Forum, BEST OF PHOTOGRAPHY ANNUAL 1998". He is also a member of PPMN (Professional Photographer of Minority Network) and PPGNY (Professional Photographer of Greater New York) where he has one "Merit" and one "Best of Show" since joining PPGNY this year.

Phil Royal has taught photography classes, volunteered his talents to "United Way of Bergen County", "American Cancer Society", "Relay for Life", and the "Business Volunteer Services".

Phil Royal attends at least two wedding/portrait seminars a year to further improve his craft and stays with the latest trends and technologies.
